Kartepe Summit And Urban Fair Will Be Held On 24-27 March 2022
Marmara Municipalities Union (MMU) becomes the partner of Kartepe Summit and Urban Fair which will be organized by Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality for the 4th time on 24-27 March 2022 with the theme of “Resilient Cities and City Transformation”.
Kartepe Summit organized by Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality since 2017 is an international event held with a view to contribute to the mission of producing solutions to the challenges that world cities encounter. The Summit gathers policymakers, public officials, academics, representatives from private sector and NGOs, journalists, and citizens keen to discuss urban issues with an interdisciplinary approach. Kartepe Summit focuses on human and humanity challenges by addressing topics such as climate change, migration, income distribution, gender equality, information technologies, urbanization, and democracy.
On 24-27 March 2022, Kartepe Summit will be held for the fourth time as a physical event in Kocaeli, Turkey. The Summit will bring representatives of international bodies and experts from all over the world together in panels, case critique sessions, academic sessions, and other activities. An urban fair will also be organized simultaneously with the Summit. The main theme of the 2022 Kartepe Summit and Urban Fair is "Resilient Cities and the Transformation of the City". As it is well known, many factors such as natural disasters, epidemics, earthquakes, water crises and climate change threaten our cities. With the necessity of producing solutions to these threats and the need to disseminate good practices, how to build resilient cities against these crises will be discussed in the Summit. Kartepe Summit and Urban Fair 2022 aims to contribute to the realization of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations in cities as well as to the production of policies within this context.
