Applications Open for the 19th OIDP Award

Applications are now open for the 19th OIDP Award for Best Practice in Citizen Participation, organized by the Observatory of Participatory Democracy (OIDP) and United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) to showcase efforts promoting participatory and deliberative democracy.

All practices active during 2024 are eligible to apply. This year introduces a new special mention for durability and sustainability. Practices that are no longer active in 2024 but have been in operation for at least five years, maintaining their name and characteristics without changes may also apply.

Individuals and non-profit organizations may submit applications for practices developed and implemented in collaboration with local and regional governments, provided they have the necessary authorization from the respective government.

How to Apply?

  • Applications must be submitted via the Online Application Form available on the website by 31 January 2025.
  • If you are not yet an OIDP member, you need to complete the membership form by 15 January 2025.
  • You can refer to the Application Guide to assist you in completing the form.
